Who We Are
OutdoorIndustryJobs.com was launched in December of 2005 to enable the Outdoor, Bicycle, Winter and Snow Sports, Action Sports, Fishing and Hunting Industries' job seekers and
employers to network and connect. In these particular
industries, a passion for the outdoors is the common
denominator between the job seeker and the employer.
Our mission is to provide the platform where "the
passion can happen" for both job seekers and employers
alike so they may form mutually beneficial life and
business relationships.
Laurel King is owner and founder of OutdoorIndustryJobs.com and has worked in the Outdoor Industry for over 20 years. Her expereince in owning service businesses in the Outdoor Industry enabled her to observe that people with valuable business skills who have passion for and experience in the outdoors had few resources to find a career in the Outdoor Industry. Until now, most of the recruiting done within each sector of the Outdoor Industry has been conducted inside the industry.
Laurel currently also co-owns the Great Western Bicycle Rally, an event held in Paso Robles, CA on Memorial Day Weekend. She founded and formerly owned OutdoorMind LLC, a business that serves nearly 300 outdoor-related companies by providing web site services such as hosting, design and search engine optimization. OutdoorMind also operates two outdoor directories, Adventure Sports Online and the Bicycle Tour Directory, which serve as marketing platforms for OutdoorMind clients and advertising venues for companies who advertise to outdoor enthusiasts.
Laurel and her staff regularly attend many of the outdoor product shows in all the sectors and network with both job seekers and employers.

OutdoorIndustryJobs.com, launched in December of 2005, is filling a much-needed service for companies who manufacture and distribute products or provide services that support the outdoor product industry. The site also serves as a gathering place for independent sales reps to find available lines and companies to locate sales reps to represent their products.
The site includes sophisticated searches and posting features for both job seekers and employers. Job seekers may search and apply instantly, receive job matches via email and post their resumes. Employers can post their jobs and candidate profiles, opt to search and automatically receive resumes of available candidates.
The service is free for job seekers to post their availability and to apply for jobs. Employers can do a limited search for free, but are charged for posting and resume searches
March of 2008: OutdoorIndustrjobs.com formed a partnership with the NBDA (National Bicycle Dealers Assn.) and created BicycleIndustryJobs.com and offers deep discounts to retail bicycle dealers
September 2008: Outdoorindustryjobs.com partners with Frontier Talent and offers recruiting and resume writing services.
December 2008: The Generator Group, a recruiting firm specializing in the outdoor industry sponsors the Career Tools area on OutdoorIndustryJobs.com. The Generator Group employer clients receive job purchase discounts.
January 2009: OutdoorIndustryJobs.com Powers New Job Board For SNEWS
