Eleven and Irwin Guides are proud to offer an 18-month Associate Guide Program designed to develop outstanding long-term staff and guides by offering diverse training and on the job learning opportunities through three six-month placements in Colorado and potentially abroad. The ideal candidate is looking to make a difference in people’s lives through impactful outdoor experiences in a luxury travel environment. Job duties include supporting the guide team while shadowing and learning all of the intricacies of working for a high end, complex guide service and hospitality company. Hard skills development will be a major part of the program. These skills may include, but are not limited to, rock climbing, hiking, alpine mountaineering, mountain biking, rafting, fishing, backcountry skiing and snowcat operations. In addition, on the job training will greatly focus on bolstering one’s skills in leadership, communication and outdoor education. Emphasis will also be placed on working alongside other aspects of the operation including administration, sales, logistics, hospitality and lodge management. During the duration of the program, associates will receive a salary, housing assistance, mentorship and training and travel opportunities. Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position within the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current WFR certification
  • Clean and current driver’s license

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Travel to Eleven locations as needed for extended periods of time
  • Flexible team player willing to do anything to complete the Eleven and Irwin Guide team goals
  • Previous experience with a solid foundation in outdoor skills and education

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Diverse summer outdoor skill set including river guiding, rock climbing and mountain biking experience
  • Diverse winter outdoor skill set including backcountry skiing experience and proficiency in technical terrain
  • Completion of an avalanche course through accredited institution
  • Ability to deliver high quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
