Associate Product Designer – Outdoor Packs
Granite Gear is looking for a creative and talented individual, with a strong work ethic and a passion for the outdoors to join our design team. Granite Gear is an outdoor bag & pack company specializing in innovative outdoor & travel gear. Key Responsibilities:
- Creating, revising, updating tech packs; simply put, be apart of the product development from start to finish.
- Research, organize and catalog trends in features, materials and color to use as inspiration for each season.
- Assist in creating presentation and inspiration boards.
- Build, maintain, and organize a Color, Fabrics, and Trims library.
- Travel to trail events, trade shows, product testing trips and International product development trips.
- Help out wherever is needed.
Qualifications:
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Must be willing to learn all about bag design from the design team.
- Bachelor's Degree – BS/BA/BFA - or equivalent from a four-year college (Industrial Design or Product Design Preferred)
- 0-3yrs experience.
- Passion for the outdoors!
Skills:
- Drawing/hand sketching abilities.
- Eager to learn fabrics and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of all design related programs on Mac, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and SketchBook Pro.
- Be willing to learn the Outdoor industry-study trends in products and activities and get creative with how these trends work as product opportunities.
- Must possess an eye for color, graphics, fashion and the ability to follow market trends.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines and implement quick revisions.
- Displays initiative and innovation on the job.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must have ability to multitask, work independently and be a team player.
