Job Description & Requirements

JOB TITLE:               Sales and Partnerships Directornormal'> normal'>DEPARTMENT:        Sales and Partnershipsnormal'> normal'>REPORTS TO:          Executive Directornormal'> normal'>OBJECTIVES:normal'>Provide members of NSP with the best possible outdoor products available at the lowest possible prices. Increase partnerships and build and maintain positive rapport with NSP’s sponsor companies to ensure the highest quality member benefits. Ensure profitability of the Online Store and warehouse operations by increasing margins and decreasing expenses. Manage the production of the Ski Patrol Catalog and manages the NSP online store.  normal'> normal'>RESPONSIBILITIES:

=         Manage and work with the NSP Warehouse Manager to fulfill responsibilities related to the Ski Patrol Catalog, Online Store and NSP warehouse

=         Manage and work with the NSP Partnership Manager to fulfill responsibilities related to partnerships

=         Work with NSP’s finance department to ensure compliance with accounting guidelines and sales tax laws

=         Work with team to ensure work is accomplished productively, morale is high, and independent thinking, creativity and personal growth are encouraged and supported

=         Prepare quarterly department reports with key accomplishments, up-to-date sales figures, and current events happening in the department.

 

NSP Online Store

=         Make purchasing decisions for all products being sold in the NSP Online Store, and work with E-Commerce Accountant to ensure PO’s are placed in QuickBooks in a timely fashion

=         Responsible for up to $1,000,000 in inventory assets

=         Manage accurate inventory levels through daily communication with NSP’s Warehouse Manager

=         Maintain a balanced budget for warehouse operations and inventory management

=         Manage and direct shipping to ensure that the most efficient and cost-effective shipping procedures are utilized and that orders are shipped out of the NSP warehouse accurately

=         Develop and implement new buying and selling strategies to increase revenue and profitability

=         Manage production of the fall and summer catalogs

=         Responsible for ensuring that all product SKUs, product images and product copy are uploaded into the Online Store using Big Commerce

=         Capture and place special orders for pin engraving, patch embroidery, special non-warehouse products and custom products for individual member groups

=         Process credits, returns and exchanges when Warehouse Manager is not available

=         Leverage web analytics to improve the user experience and track sales campaigns

=         Work with E-Commerce Accountant to ensure that drop-ships, refunds and sales tax are processed correctly

Partnerships

=         Negotiate and finalize all sponsor (“partner”) contracts (except for Subaru of America)

=         Work with NSP’s current sponsor companies (except Subaru of America) to make available to NSP members the best product on the market for in-season patrolling and off-season outdoor activity

=         Maintain and enhance current partnership relationships

=         Seek new endemic partnership opportunities that meet the needs of NSP members and enhance the value of the organization

=         Work with Access Marketing, a third-party vendor, to coordinate connections with potential non-endemic partners

=         Attend key industry events to see new products and meet with current partners (i.e. Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show, Patagonia HQ, Outerbike, and additional events as needed)

=         Enhance the member’s user experience for pro deal purchases by maintaining an up-to-date pro deal online page

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

=         Take initiative and clearly communicate new ideas

=         Ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships with partners

=         Professionalism both within the team and with the organization’s leadership

=         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

=         Organized time manager and independent thinker with strong planning skills

=         Team player and self-motivated

REQUIREMENTS:

=         Bachelors degree in business, economics, marketing or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

=         Minimum 8-10 years business and management experience

=         Minimum 3-5 years outdoor industry experience with relevant knowledge of products and industry needs and trends

=         Experience managing or working with e-commerce platforms

=         Knowledge of nonprofit organizational structures

=         Experience managing small teams

=         Demonstrated skills in managing a balanced budget

=         Passion for skiing and the outdoor recreation industry preferred

=         Experience as a ski patroller a plus!
