Job Description & Requirements

SPONSORED EVENT SPECIALIST

Honey Stinger seeks to fill the position of Sponsored Event Specialist within the marketing department. This employee will work closely with other marketing team members and third party event planners to oversee sponsorship execution and drive strong brand awareness at events and surrounding retailers. This position will be responsible for managing all product placement, maintaining all marketing assets, managing event logistics, as well as any sponsored event related marketing opportunities.

Manage all evnet marketing assets: 

  • Opportunities on sponsored events social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube
  • Facilitate digital communication: pre-race emails, newsletters, blog, virtual goodie bags
  • Manage website integration: inclusion in partner pages, relevant content, course map inclusion, pre-race nutrition suggestions
  • Deliver all on course materials assets: finish shoot, tear drop banners, aid station, course signage
  • Manage comp race entries with Hive Team Manager
  • Provide marketing materials needed for advertising: logo, collateral, video, digital

Work with the Brand Director and marketing team to manage nutritional product and staffing logistics: 

  • Forecast product needs with inventory manager
  • Arrange shipping logistics for on course product
  • Organize sampling booth set up, sampling product and internal and external event staff
  • Send product for pre-race sampling opportunities and events
  • Provide samples for goodie bags/post-race rewards 

Oversee all pre-race events: 

  • Race registration weeks
  • Finish festivals
  • Pre-race training runs
  • Run shop/run center events

Research and implement additional sponsorsed event marketing opportunties: 

  • Create strategic alliances with other event sponsors
  • Work with Honey Stinger Trade Marketing manager to execute retail promotions and events
  • Evaluate opportunities with race designated coaches and pacers
  • Consider additional race influencers and product placement
  • Value all couponing placements
  • Manage collecting post event reports and evaluate what worked and what didn’t

Requirements: 

 

  • Experience: Prior work experience as a marketer of energy foods, sports or outdoor industry
  • Education: College degree in marketing or equivalent work experience in marketing, sales, public relations
  • Computer Skills and Software: Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Netsuite, Bronto email and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Sprout Social, etc.) desired
  • Abilities: Creative and motivated individual
  • Physical Requirements: Vision, hearing, speech, manual and physical dexterity sufficient to set up tradeshow booths, the ability to travel domestically and potentially internationally
