Palo Alto Bicycles, one of the nation’s oldest and most respected independent bicycle retailers, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sales Manager to oversee their staff and store. The family-owned, full-service shop has been located in a vibrant downtown environment for 92 years and takes pride in offering detail-oriented service and incredible customer experience.
The Sales Manager reports to the General Manager and will work broadly across departments and locations: with customers to deliver an incredible experience; with Purchasing to ensure proper products are in stock at all times; with the Service department to assure bikes are built and available for sale; and with the Palo Alto team to continue to grow this time-tested business and the local bike community.
As a management position, other responsibilities include opening, closing, and managing the daily operations of the shop; ensuring the sales floor is always clean and organized; maintaining adequate inventory levels; monthly and spot inventories; merchandising; performing cash control duties; assisting the public in purchasing products. Customer service is Palo Alto Bicycle’s priority, and it’s the Sales Manager’s responsibility to ensure sales staff can deliver an incredible experience, every time.
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of three years experience in management in a high-level retail environment, charisma and great sociability, time management, delegation, and organizational skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
