Job Description & Requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct repairs on kayaks, inflatables, drysuits, paddles, etc. 
  • Responsible for keeping up with cycle counts

  • Manage the flow of incoming and outgoing paddlesports customer work

  • Manage flow of the rental department, maximizing efficiency

  • Learn, retain, and train staff on EZrent software

  • Manage Rental fleet through EZrent inventories, rental tuning, and both seasonal & random testing

  • Work with Staffing manager and Location Manager to identify department training needs and facilitate scheduling accordingly.

  • Daily Progress Sheets – Create/Collect/Communicate prog sheets and projects. 

  • Supervise staff through team building and leadership to accomplish both short and long-term department goals set forth by Location Managers and Rental/Service Manager.

  • Coach, lead and manage team members on priorities, projects, training and customer service. 

  • Provide excellent customer service for tuneshop, rental and retail customers

  • Become excellent at giving and receiving feedback

  • Manage rental dept. and tune dept. staff lunch breaks and provide department coverage as needed

  • Ensure staff has the appropriate tools and knowledge to accomplish daily tasks

  • Train & supervise employees to use Next Adventure’s shop machinery safely

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

 

  • Experience with paddle sports repair or the paddle sports industry

  • Ability to learn and become proficient in “Easyrent” Rental Software

  • Previous customer service, outdoor retail & Service shop experience

  • High Attention to Detail

  • Moderate/heavy lifting, with reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to use heavy machinery and power tools safely

  • Has demonstrated the ability to be consistently reliable and punctual

  • Basic math skills

  • Has demonstrated leadership qualities

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

  • Has demonstrated challenge-resolution skills
