Job Description & Requirements
Juniper Ridge is a wilderness fragrance manufacturing company based in an eco-industrial park in West Oakland, where we steam distill our essential oils on-site and we are looking for a qualified Production Manager to join our growing company!
The Production Manager is responsible for sourcing and collecting raw materials for our products as well as managing and directing all production activities and warehouse staff and coordinating the production of goods with our warehouse staff.
The Production Manager reports to the Operations Manager to ensure that we are in stock of all finished goods and works with the Operations Manager to ensure quality control while maximizing efficiency. This position does require traveling to locations throughout Northern and Central California 7-10 times a year to collect materials for producing our products.
Primary Responsibilities:
The production manager is responsible for following the production plan for all finished goods
Ensure products are created on time
Ensures machines are repaired and running smoothly
Set and meet production goals
Relationship management and building with current and future our vendors
Coordinating and managing our wildcrafting department, including organizing and attending wildcrafting harvests (involves travel and manual labor)
Implementing training and safety programs
Monitor our product standards
Correct problems on the production line
Implement and oversee quality control programs
Develop production schedules and duty assignments
Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs
Maintenance and repair of warehouse machinery & equipment including proper documentation and maintenance schedules
Keep abreast of new technology that can be used in the production process
Landscaping/farming experience and native plant knowledge a plus!
Love for the outdoors, nature conservation, and wilderness protection also a plus!!
Required Skills:
Minimum 2+ years maintenance management, manufacturing, or production management
Heavy equipment operating (forklift, wood chipper, chainsaws, small loader tractor)
Mathematical skills
Problem-solving ability
Planning, organization & priority setting
Computer skills (Internet research, MS Word, Excel)
Ability to effectively manage change
Ability to make independent decisions
Proven leadership and communication skills
Experiencing processing government documents (DMV, CHP, USDOT)
Attention to detail and task-oriented
Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for prolonged periods of time
Valid CA driver's license ** must have a clean driving record
