1. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Researches, plans, and designs performance archery equipment. Directs and coordinates activities involved in the fabrication, testing and application of mechanical parts for Pure Archery Group products. Provides input on product specifications and participates in the committee to recommend and evaluate new products (NPD)for the next production year.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches and analyzes data such as design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design, materials, parts, or application
Selects materials for parts and components to develop requested products. Builds product to fit requested specifications. Evaluates components through the first article process
Develops and builds prototypes to measure the level of function, performance and reliability
Records and evaluates testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring products safely and timely to market
Delegates tests to the R & D Technicians. May participate in the testing process of some components. Uses manual testing methods and a variety of equipment to complete tests
Participates in the committee to evaluate and recommend new product designs for the coming year. Provides mechanical engineering expertise to evaluate and select designs
Calculates cost estimates for final product designs
Attends NPD meetings to provide progress reports, strategize on next steps and acquire information about new product direction
3. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other duties as assigned
Occasional international or domestic travel may be required

5. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
= Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
= Highly analytical mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems
= Proficiency with CAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Office required
= Strong mathematical and analytical skills required
= Drafting skills, including computerized drafting experience required.
= Strong computer skills are required.
= Requires excellent oral and written communication skills
= Archery experience preferred
