Job Description & Requirements

Black Diamond Equipment is looking to hire an Inspector 2. The ideal candidate will ensure that all parts products conform to quality standards, ensure that the BDEL Manufacturing Operations Safety Policy and Guidelines are adhered to.

Essential Functions:

  1. Authority to inspect all raw material components and production processes systematically in accordance with the WIP, QC Manufacturing Operating Procedures.
  2. Responsible to ensure compliance with specifications and completion of proper documentation.
  3. Responsible to notify inspection supervisor of all non-conformity.
  4. Sign off products going out and coming back from outside service.
  5. Support product sorts, reworks, inspections, and investigations
  6. Responsible for testing and/or data collection, as necessary.
  7. Initiate and follow-up with NCRs for non-conforming material.
  8. Responsible for submitting a weekly quality report.
  9. Has the authority to perform final inspection.
  10. Authority to assist in operator training Quality requirements or Mfg. Processes.
  11. Responsible to ensure that material control and accountability is maintained on the floor at all times through training and enforcement of the BDEL Material Control Procedure.
  12. Responsible for the mentorship of Inspector I.

Education:

  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Associates Degree

Work Experience:

  • Required: 3-5 years of quality control inspection or 1-3 years with BD doing quality control inspection.
  • Preferred: 5+ years in quality control inspection.

Work Location:

  • Required: Be able to work in West Valley and Millcreek locations.

Skills and general experience:

  • Attention to detail and ability to reliability to follow procedures consistently. Basic trigonometry and/or algebra. Intermediate computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet are necessary. Knowledge testing equipment, use of standard measurement devises and quality control fundamentals are necessary. Good communication skills are also necessary.
