Job Summary
Velofix is a full-service mobile bike shop equipped with all of the tools, parts, and accessories to get the job done right. We provide a convenient, premium-quality service experience to our clients at their homes or offices. Our goal is to save people time so they can do more of what they love – RIDE!
We are excited about our continued growth along the Front Range and are looking to fill a full-time Operator/Lead Mechanic position in the Boulder/Fort Collins territory. This is a salary-based position with competitive pay, as well as the opportunity for profit-sharing and other incentives/benefits.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide exceptional technical service, capably completing any repair on all kinds of bikes. Our customers range from World Champions and Olympians to beginners who are just starting to explore the great sport of cycling. We need to be able to take great care of them all
Embrace the responsibility of managing the day to day operation of their own mobile shop (a fully equipped Sprinter van) but with business guidance and corporate support
Ensure all-around excellent customer experience from punctual arrival to departure. Velofix is built on referrals, so customer satisfaction is paramount
Provide clients with a thorough service-writing experience, addressing all aspects of repair or maintenance for their bicycle, as well as other suggestions that may enhance their riding experience
Proficiently execute assembly, repairs, and maintenance on all types of bicycles
Be approachable and welcoming to customers, willing to educate them on all bike-related issues
Monitor and maintain an inventory of parts and accessories, submit and receive parts orders via online interface
Maintain a clean, organized, efficient work environment - our shop is customer-facing and needs to impress!
Qualifications and Skills
BBI/UBI or similar certification, or equivalent work experience (at least three years on-the-job working as a bicycle mechanic in a shop setting). Must be able to perform advanced repairs on all kinds of bikes
Other certifications (STU, S-TEC, Specialized, Trek, etc.) desired
Must have a clean driving record, and be comfortable driving in both urban and rural settings
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Enthusiastic and able to work in close contact with our clients, as our clients appreciate the personal, one-on-one relationship that our business model offers
Independent worker, able to manage time to complete work and meet scheduled appointments
Discriminating attention to detail
