The Orvis Company is seeking three Digital Merchants to join our digital merchandising team in our Vermont corporate office. The Digital Merchant provides the vision for one of the product categories on the Orvis US website. Successful candidates have a passion for product, retail, and an ability to drive sales in a fast-paced environment. This position will have the responsibility for managing the assortment, marketing, and directly overseeing merchandising of a category – Women’s, Dog, or Fish/Hunt. Digital merchandising experience is required.
Marketing and merchandising responsibilities will include key product offers and their corresponding product pages, landing pages, e-mail, shop pages, site banners, and home page. Strategies / tactics evaluated will include assortment expansion, product placement, site navigation, onsite search, engaging content, banners, e-mail product selection and promotions, and online marketing programs.

Analyze and understand key product business trends, as well as Creative, Feature/Functionality and Marketing impact to enable effective Digital Merchandising activity;
Work collaboratively with merchandising partners on item drops/repeats and planning partners on web item plans/item ranking and promotions;
Lead the build-out of merchandising plans for the category on Orvis.com. Socialize the plan and build partnerships critical to execution, including with members of the Marketing, Creative and UX teams;
Partner with Digital Marketing to build the volume of engagement, customer acquisition, sales and retention necessary to deliver on category goals. Spark ideation, innovation and testing activity;
Partner with the Creative team on asset creation for emails, site banners, social imagery and other digital business needs. Submit creative requests, coordinate photo samples and copy. Build a library of creative test results and best practices to continuously guide Orvis’ business forward;
Partner with the Orvis.com User Experience team to deliver the best customer experience possible. Stay current on competitor and industry UX trends, best practices and innovations relevant to the category business.
3+ years’ of digital merchandising experience;
Proven in-depth understanding of web analytics, feature, functionality, and web reporting systems;
Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud experience
