Strider Sports International, Inc, is the South Dakota-based company behind the industry leading, Strider Balance Bikes for toddlers and children. Headquartered in Rapid City, SD this global company is rapidly expanding and seeking an energetic leader to manage a new Strider Brand Store and Learn-To-Ride center in Bentonville, AR.

Store Vision:

Strider is opening their first Brand Store separate from their headquarters in South Dakota. This store will be located on the Square in historic Bentonville. It will showcase the Strider brand and offer Strider Bikes and accessories for sale to consumers in a dedicated brand setting. The store will also offer Learn-To-Ride classes within the facility and will support Strider activations at key events on the Square and around the NW Arkansas region.

Strider is building a team of passionate people who want to inspire a love of riding through promotion of our brand, education platforms, and events in the Bentonville area. The team will consist of a manager as well as events specialist, education specialist, customer service specialists, and community outreach staff. The scope of work will include days in a retail environment, time spent organizing and working at events, and hands-on fun teaching kids how to ride!

Position Summary:

The person in the Brand Store Manager role will direct the retail operation of the store, organize the many details of projects and events happening through the community, and manage a team of up to 7 people. This person will work closely with our marketing, education, and sales divisions at Strider headquarters to achieve the goals and objectives, such as communicating the value of our products, educating parents on the Learn-To-Ride process, and representing the brand at events.

This person will be the face and voice of Strider in the NW Arkansas region. This is a job for someone who loves kids, cares about changing lives, and knows how to run a show! The ideal candidate will have a passion for what we do and the desire to create awesome riding experiences for 2-6-year-old children and their families. The store manager will be the one in charge of setting the standards for amazing customer service experiences, top notch brand representation, and memorable event activations? all designed to inspire the next generation of riders.

All interested applicants must:

  • Have 2 or more years of management experience in retail and/or events
  • Be a passionate, driven, and self-motivated team player
  • Be customer-service and customer-experience focused " Possess a knowledge of Strider and the market we serve

Functions:

  • Have an entrepreneur's mindset for store and operations start-up phase
  • Use the Strider mission and core values as your compass
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams at Strider HQ to conceptualize campaigns and strategies
  • Be the local point of contact for corporate partners, marketing departments, and outside agencies;
  • Be an accessible, transparent, and supportive leader
  • Manage a financial budget including labor costs and overall expenses
  • Manage all visual standards in the store
  • Welcome and embrace change as it inspires us to create new ways to serve our customers
  • Develop strategies to maximize brand presence in the community
  • Passionately explain product features and benefits as well as the overall benefits of riding and balance
  • Interact with families in both the retail arena and at events
  • Lead the delivery of a high level of customer experience
  • Be available, flexible, and open to working weekends, events, and holidays as needed
  • Represent the brand positively in a multitude of settings
  • Generate brand awareness through word-of-mouth marketing
  • Act as a regional media spokesperson on behalf of the company
  • Control inventory relevant to both the showroom and events
  • Process on-site sales from showroom
  • Plan, promote, and execute on events
  • Market the brand through hands-on experiences

In true start-up fashion, people who take the bull by the horns, learn on the fly, deal with ambiguity, demonstrate sound judgement, and solve problems creatively are the most successful with Strider.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage a team of up to 7 people
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and retail business systems
  • Confident and precise communication skills are vital
  • Excellent persuasion and sales skills
  • Must be comfortable starting conversations and asking questions
  • Comfortably interacting with both Individual consumers as well as business-to-business contacts
  • Comfortable in a retail, offsite event, or office setting
  • The ability to drive and transport materials to and from events
  • Desire to work hard, get dirty, and inspire a love of riding

Physical Demands:

  • Be able to engage in repetitive motions, bending, kneeling, twisting, stretching, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing ladders, carrying, walking, and reaching on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs.

Location and hours:

  • This position is in Bentonville, AR
  • Store hours: 7 days/week retail operation based on consumer traffic patterns
  • Some U.S. travel and regular support of weekend events should be anticipated

Pay:

  • $54,000 to $74,000 depending on experience.
  • This is a full-time exempt position and qualifies for a full benefits package that includes paid time off, a 401K plan, health insurance, and an extensive list of perks.
