Senior Product Developer - Footwear

Erem is looking for someone to lead all aspects of footwear product development and commercialization. Your primary focus will be to work with Erem’s design team, factory, and suppliers to turn Erem’s products and design vision into commercial reality beloved by desert seekers and outdoor enthusiasts around the world. 

Key Product Developer responsibilities will include:

1. Calendar Creation and Management.  

• Work closely with all facets of the business (marketing, design, factory, vendors, and operations) to establish a product calendar, and manage its on-time execution

2. In-line Product Development 

• Lead development process from tech pack handoff to first delivery while working closely with the design team to ensure that the seasonal product lines meet brand standards for performance, sustainability, cost, and aesthetics

3. Product & Sustainability Innovation

• Source and develop commercial-ready, product innovations at intersection of performance and sustainability by identifying new vendors and working with existing ones on R&D

Nuts & Bolts of the Role:

Erem is an early stage startup looking for team members that thrive in fast paced environments and embrace the new and unknown. The Senior Product Developer should have at least 5 years of experience in the following areas:

1. Leading the development of outdoor performance footwear

2. Current knowledge of tech and product trends in the outdoor industry

3. Passion for and familiarity with sustainability and circularity principals

4. Direct costing and budgeting experience

5. Working ‘in factory’ with development and production partners

6. Sourcing, negotiating, and on-boarding new vendors and supply chain partners

7. Proficient at communication and modification of 2-D and 3-D technical drawing files for lasts, molded parts and shell patterns.

8. Experience with vendor management: issuing P.O.s, tracking order logistics, executing development process

9. Familiarity with shipping process between factory and warehouse

10. Experience with commercialization: coordinating wear and fit testing, size grading and engineering changes in lead up to production

• Can establish order and organization in fast-paced and dynamic environments

Erem is seeking to build a team of the most inspired and talented desert lovers and outdoor seekers, wherever these people are. However, we also believe that spending time together is an important ingredient to happiness, impact, and good work. So when it is safe and appropriate, Erem intends to occasionally gather in offices near Las Vegas, NV, just a short commute from some of the most beautiful desert hikes on earth -- which in our view, are the best kind of conference rooms. In the meantime and for the foreseeable future we will be working remotely, and intend to remain very flexible even after the COVID-19 pandemic.
