CAD/CAM Programmer

Title: Cad/ Cam programmer                                             Reports to: President

FLSA: Non-Exempt                                              Department: GA

Primary Function:

The goal of this position is to assist in the design and development of new and existing products for both Horizon and iota Outdoors in an ever changing environment. Responsibilities will include creation and manipulation of both 3D cad and CAM. Experience with machine side programming of Haas CNC machines is preferred. 

Position Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Work with the design team to create new products 

• Manage large amounts of incoming calls, text messages to company phone, and email

• Provide general support for machine side production 

• Operate within a Lean philosophy company participating in and contributing to strategic deployment processes and lean daily management 

• Look for opportunities to continuously improve best practices and processes 

• Other duties as assigned

Skills:

• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills

• Solid works Cad

• Master Cam 

• Creative product design

Qualifications:

• Works well under pressure and is capable of remaining calm and focused despite rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines

• Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary

• Must possess current and valid driving record with clear history for the past three years

• Must pass drug test and 100% clean background check

Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)

• Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)

• Lifting of 25-50 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)

Work Environment:

• Typically inside a climate-controlled office and is required to occasionally move from office to manufacturing areas and outdoors to perform duties

• Occasional exposure to manufacturing environment where the use and wear of proper protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses or side shields on glasses and closed toe shoes are mandatory
