Operations Manager

Primary Function:

The goal of this position is to manage production operations for both Horizon and iota Outdoors over our multiple site locations. Responsibilities will include integrating LEAN manufacturing principles and daily management tools into current operations. The preferred candidate would have experience in faced paced highly variable environments. Travel will be required often from one production location to another. Experience in the outdoor industry is preferred. 

Position Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Manage production throughput 

• Manage large amounts of incoming calls, text messages to company phone, and email

• Provide oversight to the planning and purchasing departments

• Operate within a Lean philosophy company participating in and contributing to strategic deployment processes and lean daily management 

• Look for opportunities to continuously improve best practices and processes 

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Works well under pressure and is capable of remaining calm and focused despite rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines

• Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary

• Must possess current and valid driving record with clear history for the past three years

• Must pass drug test and 100% clean background check

Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods of sitting and/or walking (33% - 75% of time)

• Stooping, bending, twisting, leaning (10% - 25% of time)

• Lifting of 25-50 lbs. occasionally (0% - 33% of time)

Work Environment:

• Typically inside a climate-controlled office and is required to occasionally move from office to manufacturing areas and outdoors to perform duties

• Occasional exposure to manufacturing environment where the use and wear of proper protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses or side shields on glasses and closed toe shoes are mandatory
