The role has you working across teams and across continents on a variety of projects, utilizing your skills in bike mechanics, documentation, organization, and communication every day to improve Marin’s bikes and brand for our riders worldwide. Duties and Responsibilities | |||
R&D = Build, inspect, document, and create reports on all aspects of bike quality, performance, function, and packaging as needed. = Work with product and engineering teams to consistently improve design, function, and performance of our bicycles, components, and accessories. = Create technical documents to communicate details, issues, and resolutions to internal and external customers = Build product and engineering samples for testing. = Travel domestically and internationally to our facilities and factories for inspections, improvements, and quality control related initiatives Service & Warranty = Inspect and repair any warranty or return bikes = Prepare reports and feedback on warranty issues for improvements = Pull, inspect, and ship warranty frames, forks, and parts = Pull and ship service parts = Assist in service parts stocking and organization = Support Warranty Manager as needed Marketing & Sales = Service and maintain demo fleet = Assemble and maintain marketing bikes for media, photo shoots, etc. = Process non-warranty return orders = Ship various orders daily = Assist with sales events, trade shows, consumer demo, and expo events as needed General Responsibility = Maintain professional, clean, organized, and inviting shop area in Marin HQ = Other tasks, as requested by management | |||
Essential Qualifications | |||
= 5+ years of bike shop mechanic experience, preferably as Service Manager or Lead Mechanic = Intimate knowledge of bike components of all types and levels = Mastery of suspension and disc brake service = High attention to detail = Self-motivated = Able to multi-task effectively = Excellent interpersonal skills – must collaborate and communicate effectively across teams and across cultures = Able to work in a professional manner in a team environment = Strong organization skills = Strong verbal and written communication skills = Able to carry out complex assignments without supervision = Proficiency with technology (Email, team collaboration software, Microsoft Excel and other Office programs, email, PDF creation, etc.) = Valid driver license (commercial driver license a plus) = Willing to travel as needed (usually 4-6 weeks per year) | |||
