About the Position
This individual is tasked with coming up with new and innovative ways to present Marathon Sports as
an authentic and influential independent running brand. They will work closely with our ecommerce
and buying teams to provide a highly engaging and user-friendly digital experience for customers of the
Marathon Sports brand family. This person must understand our customers and how to communicate
effectively with them. The Digital Marketing Manager will report directly in to the Director of Marketing.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Management of diverse portfolio of social media accounts for three different brands across
- multiple platforms
- Creation and execution of digital advertising strategy including use of Facebook Ads Manager
- and Google Ads
- Creation of original, SEO-optimized content for website, blog, and email marketing campaigns
- Management of email marketing including contact segmentation, message creation, and account
- optimization
- Actively engage with all customer service inquiries via social, email, phone, or other avenues
- Building and executing comprehensive brand and product marketing plans
- Conducting regular market research in order to understand consumer behavior
This individual serves as a key member of our leadership team, crafting our marketing strategy and
directing a team of 20+ store managers in executing local and global marketing efforts in both digital
and brick and mortar space.
Qualifications & necessary skills:
- Strong marketing skill set - understanding of market research, social media, email marketing,
- content marketing, and strategic planning
- Must be proficient in the following:
- Facebook Ads Manager
- Google product suite (Google My Business, Google Analytics, Google Search Console in
- particular)
- Adobe Creative Suite
- HTML and use of Wordpress CMS
- Search Engine Optimization
- Strong writer who is able to understand and portray our culture and tone of voice
- Strategic thinker who can see the big picture
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work within a busy office environment
- Possess a strong skillset in photography
- Must be a team player who thrives on collaboration
- At least 2-3 years of previous digital marketing experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field
Please note that this position will also have some responsibilities that occasionally stray from the above. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working the sales floor and pop up events that take place outside the store. Events can range throughout any of our locations (occasional overnight travel required). These responsibilities can also extend to other brands that fall under the Marathon Sports umbrella.
