Demand Planner
Big Rock Sports is the largest wholesale sporting goods company in North America with 5 US distribution centers in NC, MN and NV serving retailers in the hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor markets.
We are currently seeking an experienced Demand Planner or an individual with Supply Chain experience to help us manage the company’s inventory which is our single largest asset. The optional locations for this role would be in our Morehead City or Graham NC facilities.
The Demand Planning role is a critical link to ensure our customers have access to the right inventory at the right time while also controlling inventory within company parameters. In this role, you would be responsible for creating and maintaining forecast models on thousands of items at multiple DCs as well as executing and maintaining purchase orders. You would work in close collaboration with your merchant counterpart as well as the sales and operations teams to ensure all stakeholders are involved in developing and executing the inventory management strategy.
Specific responsibilities include:
Developing effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns. Would support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities. It is expected that the successful candidate can proposed and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy and communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management. Would monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets and business strategies.
Requires a bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role or supply chain role. Must have a solid understanding of inventory management practice and procedures, strong mathematical and statistical knowledge, capability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, be a team player and an excellent communicator. Excel skills a must, previous experience with Gains or other forecast replenishment software highly desirable.
