Employment Opportunity – Senior Sales Manager for eVent® Fabrics

 

eVent® fabrics—a privately held, global performance fabrics business focused on supplying high performance waterproof breathable fabrics to top apparel and footwear brands and companies—is expanding its sales organization to handle growing global interest in the eVent® brand with the addition of a Senior Sales Manager in North America. The Senior Sales Manager will contribute to business growth in all aspects of the sales and customer development process, including creating new opportunities, developing relationships, and supporting customers throughout the development process.

Job Responsibilities

1.        Identify and establish new customers throughout North America, with a focus on the following markets: outdoor, cycling, running, snow sports, hunting, fishing, urban/fashion, workwear and various professional categories.

2.        Deliver product and marketing presentations to product teams, marketing teams and senior management.

3.        Earn the trust of the customer by exhibiting a strong knowledge of fabrics and material technologies.  

4.        Manage existing customers to increase share of wallet, promote the use of the eVent brand, and increase volume. 

5.        Transfer market intelligence to the eVent product team to support the creation of desired high-performance products that meet evolving customer needs.

6.        Support company sustainability goals and objectives through product development and smart sourcing.

7.        Assist in the troubleshooting of products, quality issues, and sourcing challenges.

8.        Provide regular forecasts, sales and customer updates, and trend information in weekly meetings with leadership and the global team.

9.        Provide regular reporting to eVent’s global management team.

 

Experience and Qualifications

1.      Undergraduate college degree. Specific education in material sciences, product design or marketing a plus.

2.      At least 10 years of experience in the textile industry. Outdoor sportswear background is a plus.

3.      Should have a strong understanding of textile manufacturing process especially weaving / knitting and lamination process.

4.      Should be well connected in the sports apparel or outdoor industry. An ideal candidate will be the one who has first-hand experience with a branded textile fabric manufacturer.

5.      Self-motivated and business oriented with the ability to multi-task.

6.      Strong communication and presentation skills.

7.      Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office software.

8.      Able to work in a multicultural environment.

9.      Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

10.   Work flexible hours that might include weekends and evenings on occasion.

11.   Enjoys participating in outdoor sports activities.

 

Salary: Includes base salary plus commission, commensurate with experience.

Location: Kansas City or Remote
