Job Summary:

Our Director of Product Development is responsible for bringing innovative products to market. You’ll help us deliver flawlessly built, best-in-market products from our robust product pipeline.  Collaborating with talented colleagues, you’ll make sure the best ideas rise to the top, communicate product timelines with internal and external partners and eliminate delays and solve problems. You’ll analyze market trends, review sales data and product lifecycle analysis. 


Whether you have experience in research, engineering, product design, project management or in manufacturing and logistics, you must have experience bringing high-quality consumer packaged goods to market. The ideal candidate is a selfless, collaborative, interesting person who is more motivated by team success than individual glory. 


*Remote position - travel overnight 4-6 times per year, assuming it’s safe to do so.*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee GRAYL’s pipeline of new products from end-to-end, including market analysis, risk assessment, prototyping, tooling, costing and BOMs, testing and commercialization.

  • Be accountable to critical milestones in the Product Development cycle, including prototypes, launch plans, and visibility into development road maps with key retail partners.

  • Manage production timelines, track key milestones and solve problems to reduce delays; bringing new products to market efficiently. 

  • Manage new product communication - internally and with suppliers - including travel to suppliers (when possible)

  • Build product roadmaps, and perform Lifecycle Management and analysis of supply chain, sales and market trends 

  • Improve GRAYL’s environmental footprint: improved energy efficiency, less waste, etc

  • Contribute technical knowledge and product ideas as part of a creative team that is building dope new shit.

  • Exude positive energy and a great attitude, to inspire colleagues to do great work.


The ideal candidate has these characteristics:

  • 5+ years successful experience developing and manufacturing high quality, packaged consumer goods.

  • PLM Product Lifecycle Management experience - market & data analysis, 

  • Relevant experience with engineering, tooling, materials and production techniques preferred. Basic understanding of CAD software. 

  • Highly organized, sharp focus on details, versatile w/ project management 

  • Appreciation for how diverse viewpoints and backgrounds make products and companies better

  • Burning desire to deliver innovative new products that exceed our customers’ incredibly high expectations. 

  • Excellent communication skills: the ability to proactively provide timely, relevant and concise information about your areas of responsibility
