Job Description & Requirements

Lead Bicycle Sales Associate

The Lead Bicycle Sales Associate is a non-commissioned sales person with the primary responsibility of the day-day care of the sales floor and ensuring that customers experience an exemplary sales process. This individual will split time between our two retail locations in both Littleton and Denver and will be responsible for making sure we have a proper product selection and inventory. An ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of bicycle retail experience, but we are willing to train enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate individuals for this role. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Hiring / Training / Empowering employees

  • Inform employees of new policies & procedures

  • Assist in the creation of retail product sales (Labor Day Sales, etc.)

  • Responsible for maintaining organized inventory

  • Perform occasional inventory counts

  • Assist in maintaining stock levels / placing orders for bicycles

  • Assist in maintaining stock levels / placing orders for accessories

  • Assist in maintaining stock levels / placing orders for store consumables

  • Provide customer service over the phone

  • Assist in writing accurate and thorough service tickets

  • Maintain cleanliness / order of shop floor

  • Maintain high sales ability

  • Check work email at beginning / end of shift 

  • Provide team with week-end email summarizing open items

  • Assist in writing accurate and thorough service tickets

  • Maintain proper service area records and documentation

  • Assist in performing repairs on customer bikes

  • Assist in maintaining rental fleet

  • Build new bikes for retail 

  • Act as mentor for job trainees

  • Foster sense of community in GoodTurn Cycles physical spaces

  • Assist in creating, planning & executing community building events

  • Assist in staffing local events


Education/Experience: 

  • 1-2 years of retail sales experience

  • Experience providing customer service in person, over the phone, and via email

  • Bicycle mechanic experience - PLUS

  • Cycling enthusiast - PLUS

Physical Demands:

  • Able to sit or stand and walk throughout the scheduled work shift

GoodTurn Cycles is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated helping people achieve better health and providing job training to young people. Our shop specializes in sales, rentals and tours of electric bicycles (e-bikes), and repairs for all bikes.

 

GoodTurn Cycles is home to a job training program for young people with barriers to employment. Our paid internship program takes our interns through a bicycle mechanics, customer service and mentorship curriculum in which we develop transferrable basic employability skills. Although we have dedicated staff to perform the training, all employees have the opportunity to have a positive impact on our interns through mentor engagement and supplementary training.
