Tekto Knives is a fast-growing, innovative brand that designs and manufactures high-quality automatic, out-the-front, and folding knives. We are based in Portland, Maine, and seeking experienced Outside Sales Representatives (agencies or individuals) to join our team and help us expand our customer base and market reach. The prospective agency should have experience calling on specialty retailers, buying groups, and regional/national chains. In addition, the ideal agency will have previous knife experience or currently represent complimentary lines emphasizing firearms, ammunition, shooting optics, and outdoor or tactical accessories. 

As an Outside Sales Representative at Tekto Knives, your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with new customers to drive sales and revenue growth. In addition, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing sales strategies, and executing sales plans to meet or exceed sales targets in your assigned geography. This is a commission-only position with generous commission rates and growth incentives.

Tekto is quickly becoming a leader in the tactical knife space with a strong online presence and a growing physical retail presence. Due to our recent success, we want to expand our reach at physical retail with key partners nationwide. We have an immediate need for strong partners in the following geographies: Southeast US, TALO & Upper Midwest 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers to increase sales revenue.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and other sales activities.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective customers.

Requirements:

  • Proven sales experience in a similar role, preferably in the outdoor or sporting goods industry.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable selling knives

About Tekto Knives

In 2016 several of the early Tekto partners returned from an outdoor excursion in the backwoods of Maine with frustration and disappointment. Even some of the most reputable names in the knife space had failed in the harsh northeastern environment. The cold and brutal conditions left our knives chipped, dull, and unreliable.
