Since 1994 Icebox Knitting has created exceptionally high-quality knit hats that people can feel and look great in. We are motivated to seek exceptional vendors and individuals who appreciate high-quality workmanship, materials and who share our passion for the best.
Icebox Knitting holds a uniqueness that many companies in the United States cannot claim... made in the USA! On antique knitting and sewing machines Merino wool yarns from Italy and Peru come together to make distinctive patterns designed by our own Josh McGolthlin. Josh is like a chef pulling together and mixing the yarns of various colors and creating the perfect blend of a functionable yet fashionable hat.
Icebox started in the summer of 1993 when Josh began an apprenticeship with Richard Krueger, founder of Jonathan Richards Knitting Mill in Boulder (est. 1967). While crafting sweaters with Richard, Josh started Icebox using the same antique hand-knitting machines that are now creating the present and future lines of Icebox.
In 2007, Icebox introduced its newest brand, XOB (pronounced /zôb/; “BOX” spelled backwards). Recycling tires, bags, bottles, as well as clothing into wear is nothing unusual. Recycling sweaters and creating a hat has been done, but a recycled wool sweater hat from Icebox Knitting is one-of-a-kind original hat. Gathering sweaters from everywhere we can get them, we are creating wool/wool-blend hats, headbands and visor hats. XOB is yet another effort by Dohm-Icebox to maintain its continued commitment to being green and environmentally conscious.
We at Dohm-Icebox thank you for your business and support.
