The American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, which offers training and certification for professional mountain guides. The AMGA is the only internationally recognized organization that has a comprehensive training and evaluation program for mountain guides in the United States. In 1997 the AMGA was granted membership into the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association. This status ensures and confirms that participants who receive AMGA training and certification or companies that are AMGA Accredited are operating at established international standards. The AMGA's mission is to represent the interests of American Mountain Guides Association members by providing support, education, and professional standards.
