Chilkat Guides, Ltd. is an owner operated guiding company based in Haines, Alaska. Established in 1978, Chilkat Guides has developed a reputation for high quality trips and even higher quality guides. Trips offered include rafting and hiking trips in the southeast portion of the state as well as in British Columbia, the Yukon and in the Alaska National Wildlife Reserve. We are a seasonal business that employees just less than a hundred staff members in the summer months. While expedition trips are what the company was founded on, daily trips are the largest part of the business today. Every year we hire roughly 30 new employees in positions ranging from guides to sales specialist and managers. Most positions are seasonal full time. We train from the bottom up so rafting or guiding experience is not required but applicants should possess strong outdoor and leadership skills, a love of people and the willingness to learn. Applicants must have a clean driving record and at least 7 years of driving experience. Active seniors are encouraged to apply.
