WEB MERCHANT – Fort Collins, CO

The Web Merchant is responsible for the on-site product representation and merchandising of the company's eCommerce. This includes receiving, validating, and updating content on product pages, on-site SEO, and content management. The Web Merchant will ensure an omni-channel approach between our online presence with our four brick and mortar retail locations. Using data-driven analytics to suggest changes to the site, the primary goal of this position is to drive revenue growth, customer engagement, and conversions. 

Topo Designs’ Web Merchant is extremely cross-functional, working closely with Management, Retail, Sales, Production, Marketing and Product Development. This is an incredible opportunity to take on a broad amount of responsibility while making a vast impact on a rapidly growing company. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, this is an exciting new position with Topo Designs.

Experience/Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 3-5 years of strong and relevant prior eCommerce experience; merchandising or category planning experience

• Prior content management system (CMS) experience is required

• Experience using digital analytics and KPIs to drive the business, Google Analytics preferred

• An expert in using Excel and knowledge of various web technologies; experience using database applications such as MS Access or SQL Server is a plus

• Experience working in Shopify and Stitch is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

eCommerce:

• Manages web layout and updates product content into direct sales programs including product images, pricing, product attributes (color, weight, dimension, etc.), SEO friendly descriptions

• Manages external data feeds, such as the Google merchant center; updating and removing items as necessary

• Oversees and recommends updates to imagery for online product pages

• Reviews inventory, stock, and incoming purchase orders to make necessary merchandising changes accordingly

• Continually checks for consistency of data across programs, reporting on product and forecasting trends, as well as overseeing Topo Designs’ newsletter subscriber lists

• Builds and runs reports for development and production around sell-through data including business patterns, opportunities, best sellers, low inventory and out-of-stock items for which there is demand

• Provides on-going thorough analysis and development recommendations based on sales history for future production

• Participates in the seasonal marketing planning process, helping to implement the seasonal content plans

• Manages the merchandising and placement of product across collections on the website, according to campaigns, current stock, analytical site data and other factors in order to optimize product revenue

• Optimizes site search, online navigation, search filters, product sorting rules and overall site presentation based on analytics (click-path, traffic, conversion, etc.) • Implements continual A/B testing and reports on results

• Stays up-to-date with current and developing eCommerce merchandising trends, research and analyze the competitive landscape

 

Retail:

• Works with retail store managers on product allocations for seasonal in-store inventory

• Coordinates with retail managers to correctly time the promotion of new products online with store releases

• Aligns web and in-store retail buys
