Description:

The Sr. Sales Manager will develop, execute and drive business planning efforts to support the company’s Corporate division and customized/special Mark-up (SMU) business for key customers and collaborations, in addition to building and executing the strategy for all excess and obsolete sales to ensure overall sales and margin objectives.  

This position will be responsible for managing assigned accounts in liaison with internal resources. The Sr. Sales Manager is responsible for overall account strategy development, seasonal account planning, general reporting and year over year business channel growth.

The person in this role should be a strong communicator and should have a clear point of view in ensuring the success of each customer. The Sr. Sales Manager will be responsible for developing the product assortment strategy to support channel and customer differentiation. Partnering and leading cross-functional management of teams to create seasonal, and long-range plans for corporate, key secondary accounts and resort uniform business.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and execute strategies to grow the assigned Sales channels; including but not limited to: add on sales with each call, prospect or new business customers, log all missed product sales to track demand and research market trends.
  • Collaborate with marketing, business development and product development to develop customer-specific sales strategies, policies, annual business plans, sales forecasts (and budgets), for approval by the Director of Sales.
  • Create the channel segmentation strategy for secondary business, ensuring any collaboration, SMU or build business is being key KPIs and not causing channel disruption.
  • Drive the research, to deliver the design brief and development for Resort uniform stock and custom business.
  • Responsible for working with the product and design teams on the development of seasonal product offerings by account, owning the assortment and meeting growth targets on the business.
  • Analyze the market and look for collaboration opportunities that align with key brand values and propositions. Build relationships with external retail and vendor partners to develop a pipeline of opportunities to work with outside brands on developing seasonal product collaborations.
  • Prepare analysis and reports that monitor, forecast and analyze sales activity and trends. Assess product and customer performance and profitability, (inventory replenishment requirements), and market risks and opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with key partners within product development, marketing, business development, procurement and operations to discuss sales forecasts and develop plans to fulfill requirements for availability of product as well as sales support tools, and visual merchandising and promotional materials. Work within this group to develop mutually supportive business processes, and provide input to creative development of new products or markets.
  • Oversee daily tasks and performance of assigned resources. Account Manager will have people management responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in sales and marketing, or equivalent experience 
  • 7 years sales and merchandising experience at national level, preferably in outdoor apparel industry
  • Previous experience in the development of annual business plans and budgets, sales forecasts and report, and budget management
  • Previous management experience, preferred
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a variety of people
  • Exceptional influence, negotiation and selling capabilities
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and energetic individual
  • Outstanding analytical, creative problem-solving and verbal/written communication capabilities
  • Willing to work long hours and weekends during preseason selling periods
  • Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Apparel or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
  • A passion for the Outdoor Industry and Travel/adventure.
