We will have a state of the art service center that will be a great place to work. Pearl Bike Company will focus on thoughtful focused GRAVEL bikes designed by (Allied, Mosaic, Niner, and Twin Six ). Position Summary:
The Lead Bike Mechanic primary objective is to drive a positive community focused environment that focuses on service of Pearl Bike Company’s selection of gravel focused bikes . Working with key team members and partners, this position will implement onsite activities that enhance the day to day experience of team members and guests at Pearl Bike Company. Immediately, he/she will work hand in hand with property leadership and ownership in the successful opening and daily oversight of Pearl Bike Company service department.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the bike service experience at Pearl Bike Company.
Through a clear list of standard operating procedures, the service leader is ultimately responsible for the opening and closing service initiatives of the shop on a daily basis.
Drive the service pipeline for bikes both new and customer owned.
Identifying and quantifying service issues and clear communicate the prescribed course of action.
Deliver on financial metrics for service parts, work completed and labor hours.
Own the service experience to create a loyal following and build a strong customer base.
Work with the bike mechanics, and leadership to ensure the service department operates at its fullest potential. Find ways to create inspiring moments for guests through kindness and exemplary service.
Maintain an active presence in the service department, as an example for model customer service, and to evaluate individual/team performance.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to maximize efficiency of operations.
Support all service operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience across the shop.
Collaborate with leadership to enhance communication and help facilitate an integrated experience of offerings.
Oversee the upkeep and programming of all service department offerings.
Resolves guests complaints from all areas of the shop, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible and exceeding guest expectations.
Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner for service.
Ensure the highest level of cleanliness across all public spaces in the shop.
Take an active role in developing qualified and enthusiastic team members that continually exceed customer service level standards.
Work with leadership to onboard all new associates and incorporate hospitality training into all orientations.
Communicate service pipeline and daily expectations
Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years bike mechanic experience
BBI / UBI or similar certification
STU and S-TEC desired
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time

Building detailed custom bikes
Wheel building and wheel repair (spoke replacement)
Power meter installation and troubleshooting
Bearing service
New component installation and replacement
Drivetrain installation and replacement
Derailleurs installation and service
Headset overhaul
Brakes, brake levers and shifter levers
Internal and external cable replacement
Disc brake installation and service
