We’re searching for a motivated Accounting Assistant who is an excellent multitasker with exceptional communication and time management skills. Accounting Assistant can expect to assist the Accounting department with data entry, processing transactions and updating the General Ledger. You should be thorough, accurate, and honest with good bookkeeping skills. The ability to work autonomously is essential to this position.
Work Environment/Work Hours
This job operates in a professional business casual office environment. This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Pay is between $50-60k depending on experience.
Responsibilities for Accounting Assistant
= Support duties related to accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
= Maintain the daily and monthly bank reconciliation process
= Other duties to include: maintain daily credit card reconciliation, EBay and Amazon transactions, purchase order receipts, and various other duties as assigned
= Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion
= Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
= Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards
= Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries
Qualifications for Accounting Assistant
= At minimum, an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or similar field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience can be substituted.
= 3-5 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience
= Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel
= Experience with MAS Sage 100 preferred
= Excellent verbal and written communication skills
= Strong attention to detail and accuracy
= Ability to work independently on assigned duties
