Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the retail store and leading a team by empowering them to create a best in class retail customer experience.
Position Requirements
- Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Hire, train, and develop staff to represent the Ruffwear brand and deliver an exceptional in person experience for our customers.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve process and team member’s productivity.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Identify current and future customer needs by establishing rapport with customers to understand service requirements.
- Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories.
- Formulate pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
- Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
- Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
- Connect to the community by hosting virtual and in person events designed to educate, connect to the brand, and product.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
Travel
Required Education and Experience
- 3+ years of experience leading a team.
- 2+ years of retail experience.
- Ability to handle difficult situations in a calm, effective, and professional manner.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Enthusiasm for staying current on customer service best practices and trends.
- Experience developing and managing budgets
- Event management.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, diverse, and collaborative environment.
- Superb communication skills, whether in person, over the phone, by email or chat.
- POS system experience.
- Passion for dogs and first-hand understanding of the interactive bond between canines and humans.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Retail assortment planning and merchandising experience
- Working knowledge of all things Apple, including operating systems and apps.
- Experience in the outdoor and/or consumer products industry.
- Customer service management in a supply chain environment.
- Passion for the outdoors.
