Job Description & Requirements
Drivers must be avid-expert cyclists who demonstrate an ability to safely drive a vehicle ranging in size from a cargo-foot van with a loading ramp, to a 26-foot straight truck with a lift gate. Kitzuma Drivers are not required to have a Commercial Driver’s License, but must comply with all USDOT regulations. All hires will be trained regardless of experience in both DOT regulations and internal policies and procedures.
Kitzuma Drivers are responsible for pickups and deliveries in a designated geographic area. In most cases, drivers will be on the road for 1-4 days at a time. At any given time, a driver will be responsible for delivering multiple bikes from several manufacturers, destined for individuals, retailers, or bike shops. On occasion, drivers may be asked to attend a trade-show, demo, or other events to assist in on-site event activation.
A basic-expert understanding of bicycles and bicycle maintenance is a requirement. Drivers are not required to be licensed mechanics but may be required to do any of the following during the delivery process: remove and install wheels, adjust seat or handlebar positions, inflate tires, or make other small adjustments.
COMPENSATION & PROVISIONS
Kitzuma will provide vehicles, fuel, hotel accommodations, and an hourly pay rate. Our hourly pay rate varies by experience and location, the particular route and how many days away from home, but most of our drivers make $20-$23/Hr.
