Job Description & Requirements

Howler Brothers is growing and is looking to add a critical role to our Design Team. We are searching for an Apparel Technical Designer to manage all aspects of our technical design, including creating the perfect fit across styles by executing consistent production fit, grading, pattern approvals and maintaining accurate measurement specifications. What You'll Do:

  • Execute design and fit intent into bulk production while maintaining corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with business partners to gain clear direction and consensus of fit intent.
  • Create and maintain digital library for core and seasonal size spec, body blocks.
  • Organize and lead fit sessions on model prepared with tech packs and fit history for each style across multiple product categories.
  • Create and maintain relationships with fit models via local agencies
  • Provide complete and articulate fit comments in a timely manner, including any necessary points of measure, sketches and digital photos.
  • Correct patterns as necessary to achieve best possible fit.
  • Clarify fit comments and corrective direction to overseas partners as needed.
  • Measure and prepare samples for fittings and organizes/stores samples seasonally.

Requirements for this Role:

  • A degree in fashion design, pattern making or equivalent
  • 5+ years technical design and/or pattern making experience in the apparel industry
  • Computer proficiency with; Excel, Illustrator and PLM
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and textiles
  • Good understanding of production timelines, equipment and garment construction options
  • Good understanding of garment materials as it relates to construction and fit (fabric and trims)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with overseas partners
