Reporting to: General Manager
Status: Exempt
Job Purpose: Responsible for managing strategic direction, product planning, and coordinating marketing activities for multiple industry leading brands including Bear Archery and Trophy Ridge. Supports timely product innovation, product availability and achievement of profit goals for assigned product category.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyzes the market to determine direction of product line, brand share and market trends
- Collaborates with sales, marketing, and engineering regarding new product ideas
- Improves existing products within category
- Works closely with engineering to design, test, and approve products
- Sources materials and vendors; negotiate costs
- Determines sales pricing with input from sales team
- Develops and tracks new product development timelines to ensure timely launch
- Prepares product and packaging specifications
- Manages product inventory
- Achieves product category sales and margin requirements
- Reports monthly on performance and direction of product categories
- Bachelor’s Degree in business management or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of related sporting goods or archery experience required
- Possesses excellent analytical and planning skills
- Exhibits well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
- Exhibits problem solving and decision making abilities
- Sitting, talking and listening at least 2/3 of the time
- Lifting up to 25 pounds
- Stooping and kneeling
- Fine motor coordination
- Office environment
- Occasional international or domestic travel required
