We’re hiring a Retail Visual Merchandising Coordinator to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!

Job Summary:
Responsible for the creation, planning, implementation, installation and maintenance of attractive merchandise displays, signage, graphics, online store photography, and retail department communication to promote product sales, NPS mission, and store image.

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $17.30 per hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates store displays, product placement, promotions, and all floor plan changes.
  • Responsible for the creation, planning, implementation, installation and maintenance of attractive merchandise displays, signage, graphics, online store photography, and retail department communication to promote product sales, NPS mission, store image and maintain visual merchandising standards per corporate directives.
  • Works closely with store managers and associates to incorporate merchandising programs and uphold company standards to maximize multi-item purchases and enhance guest experience.
  • Designs and coordinates signage for all South Rim retail locations. Creates signage to communicate promotional strategies for Grand Canyon retail stores including marketing coupons, banners, brochures, flyers, table tents, and promotional buttons.
  • Conducts standards review inspections in retail locations.
  • Works with on-site and corporate retail teams to plan and coordinate remodels including budgeting and ordering fixtures and hardware. Coordinates and documents all remodels with photographs.
  • Support associate training in merchandising concepts and standards.
  • Upholding safety and maintenance standards of retail areas.
  • Coordinates merchandise photography and descriptions for the online store. Assists with the layout and design of the online store.
  • Maintains photographic and reference records on all displays.
  • Complies with Xanterra’s environmental management system and conceives ways to improve environmental impact.
  • Work closely with Corporate Retail Director and South Rim Retail Director, analyzing sales reports and store priorities.
  • Work with buyers on merchandising changes, product development, and promotions.
  • Work with Retail Director and General Manager for store remodels.
  • Work with the Director of Store Design and Visual Merchandising on new fixtures, product placement, promotions, graphics, signage, and other store changes.
  • Work with NPS on interpretive signage and thematic merchandising.
  • Collaborate with vendors regarding the coordination of vendor-supplied fixtures.
  • Participate in property walk-throughs with VP and buyers at retail outlets.
  • Travel to other properties as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a tourist and souvenir-driven retail setting.
  • Experience as visual merchandiser in multi-store retail company preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art, Graphic Design, Business, and/or Journalism preferred
  • Portfolio of merchandising displays, fixtures, visual concepts etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, and digital photography.
  • Organizational skills, drawing ability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accomplish physical aspects of the position including moderate to heavy lifting, long periods of standing and bending, and the ascent/descent of ladders.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license and comply with Xanterra’s Company Vehicle Policy.
