Job Summary 

Powder7 is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Technicians to join our team and ensure our customers enjoy a safe and enjoyable skiing experience. The Seasonal Tech Associate is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and tuning skis and snowboards to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires technical expertise and attention to detail.You will need to have a strong work ethic and work well alongside others. You will split duties mounting, tuning, and repairing skis and snowboards. You will learn how to prioritize the day’s workload to maximize efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete binding certifications

  • Work in the designated tech station that you have been appointed to for the day. These shifts rotate daily.

    • Mounting Skis/Snowboards

      • In-store customer mounts (usually includes binding adjustment)

      • Shipping mounts (mounting to Boot Sole Length only, no adjustment)

      • Binding adjustments on Wintersteiger Safetronic machine

    • Tuning Skis/Snowboards

      • In-store customer tunes

      • Used demo / trade-in tunes

    • Repairing Skis/Snowboards

      • Fixing core shots & deeper scratches in ski bases

      • Epoxy repairs to topsheet of skis

      • Repairing or replacing broken ski bindings / brakes

    • Other Services

      • Hot wax or belt wax

      • Ski edge sharpening

      • Ski base grinds

      • DPS Phantom treatments to ski bases

      • Climbing skin trimming / cutting

  • Maintain the Wintersteiger Maintenance Checklist to keep the entire fleet of equipment clean and in working order.

  • Perform daily checks of mounting and tuning supplies.

    • Report to your Assistant Manager or Manager what is needed.

  • Continued education throughout the season to further build knowledge and experience.

  • Be readily available and assist CS with mounting and tuning related issues.

  • Work in collaboration with CS to go above and beyond customer expectations.

  • Assists in moving skis to and from warehouse locations.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall goals of the company. 

Requirements / About you

  • Must be available to work holidays and at least 1 weekend day during winter season

  • High attention to detail and focus

  • Time management skills

  • Problem solving and critical thinking

  • Strong communication skills

  • Use ladders and lift 20 to 30 pounds overhead

  • No prior experience at a ski shop is required, but recommended 

  • No prior experience with power tools or machinery is required, but recommended
