Job Description & Requirements

The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) is the national trade association representing manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, scooters, motorcycle/ATV/ROV parts and accessories, and members of allied trades such as insurance, finance and investment firms, media companies and consultants.

The MIC’s membership team is looking for a Membership Manager to join the team. This position is responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing and sales plans to showcase our value to current and prospective members. Acting as the organization’s external representative, this position fosters strong connections across multiple channels to promote membership benefits and maximize revenue opportunities. Additionally, the Membership Manager will identify new revenue streams through sponsorships and other opportunities linked to MIC member assets, making this role essential to driving growth and expanding our network.

The ideal candidate will bring leadership, enthusiasm, energy, and a collaborative spirit. Someone who enjoys working with and in the Powersports industry is a must! 

Essential Job Duties include (but aren’t limited to):

  •  Lead the development and execution of membership marketing strategies
    • Develop content calendar for consistent and relevant communications regarding MIC benefits, member ROI, and MIC industry updates and accomplishment
    • Develop cohesive, informative sales and marketing collateral for current, new, and prospective members
  • Work with internal teams to ensure all information on MIC.org website is current and relevant, includes working with the design team to regularly update graphics/images throughout the website
  • Identify/create ways to build member engagement with other departments as well as other MIC members through digital avenues and in-person events including AIMExpo.
  • Actively recruit new members through targeted marketing campaigns, initiatives, and personal outreach via calls, emails, face-to-face meetings, and industry events. Personal follow-up will be necessary to understand needs of members and ensure benefits are designed to meet the needs of the greater industry
  • Identify and develop new benefits, sponsorship, and branding opportunities to drive revenue across MIC and other Associations’ platforms.
  • Develop onboarding plan for new members to ensure comprehension and ability to utilize all MIC benefits, introductions to MIC departments and active initiatives
  • Maintain and foster strong relationships with prospective and current members, delivering exceptional customer service and value-focused communication.
  • Consistently ensure a high renewal rate by addressing member needs, re-educating on benefits, and communicating membership value.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategic sales goals for the membership department.
  • Create and manage annual budgets for the Membership department; successfully manage revenue and expenses to meet contribution goals
  • Attend industry events and conduct in-person meetings with prospective and current members to strengthen relationships and promote membership benefits.

 

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years in progressive sales and/or marketing roles, with at least 2 years in management or leadership capacity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to work independently or leadership capacity.
  • CRM software proficiency; ability to maintain meticulous records – NetSuite experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed for events and meetings (roughly 20%).
  • Knowledge and passion for the Powersports industry is necessary; previous industry experience highly preferred.

Salary range for the position is 75k-85k
