Nature's Classroom at Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum is seeking enthusiastic, fun, and talented individuals excited to work with young people in our outdoor education program. Spring staff training to start March 3rd, 2025

Nature's Classroom at Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum offers 2 to 4-day residential programs, day programs and school visits with a custom designed curriculum to meet the needs of each group. Outdoor Education Instructors will be assigned a field group (typically 6th graders) and will lead hands-on, activity-based programming that includes outdoor classes, interpretive nature hikes, night hikes, campfires, and large group games. Instructors also eat meals with their group, lead team building and nature center activities, and work with groups on the high ropes course may be required. Compensation starts at $485/week, extensive training, room, meals (when students are at camp), optional weekend work for additional pay, and the use of camp equipment during free time. The staff house includes a full kitchen, TV, WiFi, and laundry facility. Your weekends are free to explore the surrounding area, including proximity to Cuyahoga Valley National Park and other great hiking and outdoor exploration activities. Although having nature-education teaching experience is a plus, it isn't necessary. As long as you are excited to learn, Nature's Classroom can teach you what you need to know.

What makes our program different?

Our staff does not supervise students at night, allowing staff to live in our large, on-site staff house which includes free WiFi and laundry, satellite TV, and a full kitchen.

Teach what you're passionate about or learn something new. We have many lesson plans for you to choose from each week. Want to develop a new class? Go right ahead! Science, history, art, survival- if you have something to teach the kids and you're excited about it, we want you to go for it! We just ask that you use the FLOW learning lesson format, which you will learn about during staff training.

Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum is the only camp in Ohio for FFA summer camp. In the spring and Fall seasons, Nature's Classroom educates predominately 6th grade groups from all across the state in the outdoor world. With each program that is facilitated we strive to provide the following components: conservation Education, leadership training, recreational opportunities and personal development. Programs provided can include, low/high ropes programs, live animal programs, outdoor education, archery and other shooting sport, water activities(kayak/paddle boards/canoe and lake tours.
