ABOUT THE JOB

The Dealer Development Manager will contribute to the success of NRS by contributing to the success of its retail partners. Success is proven by the Dealer Development Manager’s ability to grow the NRS wholesale business by building strong working relationships with NRS dealers and their staffs and delivering industry-leading wholesale customer experience and support. They will be the eyes, ears, and face of the NRS brand in their respective region, identifying opportunities to expand and improve the NRS brand presence, dealer by dealer, and community by community.

TERRITORY SALES OBJECTIVES

  • Build and maintain strong dealer relationships, especially with full-line partners.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the territory including key accounts, target markets, and the competitive landscape.
  • Grow territory to meet or exceed pre-established targets for market-share and revenue. 
  • Maximize preseason sell-in to capture open-to-buy dollars and increase breadth-of-product in retail assortments.
  • Assist full-line dealers in developing strategies and programs to improve the NRS brand presence and sell-through of NRS products.
  • Educate buyers and sales staff on the NRS brand and products through OUTFIT to create brand advocates and enhance sell-through.

TERRITORY MARKETING OBJECTIVES

  • Teach and reinforce NRS retail merchandising and promotional strategies with dealer partners.
  • Effectively communicate NRS brand initiatives to dealers and work with Marketing to involve partners in campaigns.
  • Be the face of our brand by demonstrating the values embodied by our company in interactions with dealers, staff, and end-consumers.
  • Support end-user events, clubs, and organizations, leading the way in your paddle sports community.
  • Look for new avenues to enhance the NRS brand presence, and work with Sales and Marketing teams to optimize these opportunities. 

NRS OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Assist Sales Director and Sales Manager in identifying opportunities for, and threats to, NRS growth to inform business strategy.
  • Consider respective wholesale territory in the context of the overall NRS business and cooperate with other managers to serve enterprise goals.
  • Support development of distribution and allocation strategies to ensure optimal coverage and growth in the overall market across product categories.
  • Provide insights to inform NRS sales projections and purchasing planning.
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment across Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Purchasing departments.
  • Provide insights to discussions regarding multi-channel enterprise distribution strategy.

PLANNING

  • Work with Sales Manager to develop a long-term strategy for maintaining and expanding territory sales in an ever-evolving market.
  • Work with Sales Manager to develop annual territory business plan to capitalize on opportunities, minimize threats, and maximize return-on-investment. 
  • Set direction and goals for specific customers so that time and money are spent with purpose to achieve desired goals.
  • Evaluate and prioritize event schedule consistent with the goals of the territory. 
  • Keep track of and manage sales samples and demo equipment in a responsible manner.

COMMUNICATION AND SERVICE

  • Provide the best possible wholesale customer experience and support.
  • Develop friendly personal relationships with accounts and earn their trust and loyalty.
  • Communicate with customers in a timely manner.
  • Create and conduct dynamic educational product/brand clinics and deliver a cohesive package of training, merchandising and incentive materials. 
  • Know and understand the NRS brand story and be able to effectively communicate brand messages. 
  • Know and understand NRS product stories and specs and effectively explain them using consistent talking points. 
  • Communicate with the in-house support team to provide the appropriate information necessary to properly service accounts.

TRAVEL

  • Travel territory to build relationships, grow accounts, and uncover opportunities for future growth
  • Travel territory to support grassroots marketing objectives. 
  • Optimize travel schedules to be as cost-effective as possible and leverage digital tools as appropriate to stay within targeted budget.
  • Travel predetermined loops according to the sales cycle calendar, cover territory during pivotal in-sell, sell-through, and clinic seasons.
  • Travel to national and regional trade shows, working with Marketing to create an industry-leading brand presence.
  • Provide a strong brand presence at consumer events throughout the territory to increase NRS's outreach and overall brand awareness.
  • Conduct dynamic educational product clinics and deliver a cohesive package of training, merchandising and incentive materials in order to build brand loyalty and drive sell-through.

REPORTING

  • Log all dealer engagements through Salesforce.
  • Provide sales and show reports in a timely manner as directed by Sales Director.
  • Review digital clinic participation reporting to maximize staff education and buyer relationships. 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Outdoor enthusiast with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with relationship management.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain organization in an ever-changing environment.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours.
  • Required to travel an average of 60-100 days annually.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to stand/walk for periods of time.
  • Able to travel/sit for periods of time.
  • Comfortable storing, moving, and setting up pop-up tents, fixtures, etc.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. 

PREFERRED

  • Ideal candidates are located in, or able to relocate to, Oregon or Northern Nevada. Candidates in surrounding states (Idaho, Utah, Washington) are also considered. Open to candidates outside of these areas based on experience.
  • 3-5 + years of experience in sales, retail, buying, and/or territory management.
