Position Summary
The Assistant Director, Community and Connection is responsible for synchronizing multiple efforts across Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch’s communications strategy, with the ultimate goal of building community, managing camper recruitment efforts, and maintaining connections with alumni and donors for the long term health of our organization.
The individual in this role will be an essential part of our small, year-round team and will have the opportunity to work in conjunction with the Camp Directors to steward a strong community formed over nearly 100 years of camping. In fulfilling the responsibilities outlined below, the Assistant Director will be expected to model and transmit Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch’s culture of community, respect, and cooperation.
Major Job Functions
Marketing, Communications, and Events: The Assistant Director will execute Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch’s marketing and outreach efforts, ensuring that all communications and materials are on brand, timely, and representative of our mission and vision. Responsibilities include:

Coordinate and execute print and electronic mailings in coordination with Directors

Update and create web content including blog posts and social media content.

Collect and maintain promotional materials including photos, videos, testimonials and other collateral to support communications, marketing, and fundraising efforts.

Oversee camp-branded merchandise design, ordering, and inventory.

Plan and coordinate special events as they pertain to communications and connections including new camper information sessions, alumni events, and reunions.

Solicit, collect, and analyze feedback from families via annual surveys
Fundraising, Stewardship, and Prospect/Data Management: The Assistant Director will manage Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch’s Campership Fund fundraising efforts through coordination with Camp’s Advisory Board and Directors. Responsibilities include:

Maintain and update Campership materials including information packet, application, recommended guidelines for awards

Screen and compile application materials

Review applications and suggest awards

Coordinate communication with families regarding application status

Manage annual fundraising efforts in partnership with Advisory Board members
-
Support donor communications and donor management through DonorTools including gift acceptance, acknowledgement, and recording.

Potential for grant solicitation and partnership development opportunities.
Administrative Support at Camp Facility: The Assistant Director will reside at camp during the summer (late May through Mid-August) and join the Camp Program on a daily basis. Additional responsibilities during the camp season include:

Management of photography during camp including uploading photos on a scheduled basis to relevant photo sharing sites for families and all social media posts.

Serving as a resource for parents on arrival and departure days for information and camp facility tours.

Assistance covering the time-off needs of other Staff at the direction of the Directors.

Serving as a communications liaison on Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch’s Crisis Response Team in the event of a serious incident within our organization.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree

3+ years relevant professional experience (youth programming experience preferred)

Documented experience creating, editing, proofreading, and publishing for print advertising and development materials

Experience with fundraising campaigns and platforms
-
Highly skilled at office tasks such as data entry, filing, records management
-
Experience using a wide range of typical office computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel), email marketing platforms (Mailchimp), web content management (Wordpress) as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Donor management software.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
-
The Assistant Director typically works remotely September-May, and in the Camp office end of May-Early September. Overnight and multi-day trips to Camp and the Ranch may be required as needed by the Directors to support off season programs

Required travel for professional development, or staff recruitment, with Directors or independently

Ability to use computer for extended periods with appropriate rest periods

Ability to hike, backpack, and camp for extended periods in all weather and terrain

Valid driver’s license and driving record which meets Camp Trinity on the Bar 717 Ranch’s insurance carrier requirements

Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds

Position demands occasional nights, weekends, and holiday work outside of typical business hours
